AUSTRALIAN VACCINATION NUMBERS:

* There have been 52,859,039 vaccine doses administered in the national COVID-19 rollout up to Wednesday, including 157,935 in the previous 24 hours.

* Of that total, 33,023,460 have been administered by Commonwealth facilities, an increase of 127,166 in the previous 24 hours.

* State and territory facilities have administered 19,835,579 vaccines, an increase of 30,769 in the last 24 hours.

* More than 95 per cent of people aged 16 and over have had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 94.1 per cent are double vaccinated.

* A total of 10,453,973 people aged over 16 have received more than two doses, an increase of 136,476 in the previous 24 hours.

AUSTRALIAN CORONAVIRUS NUMBERS:

* 28,040 new cases: 9995 in NSW, 8501 in Victoria, 5665 in Queensland, 1440 in South Australia, 1045 in the Northern Territory, 537 in the ACT, 680 in Tasmania, and 177 in Western Australia.

* The national death toll is 4782 (+66): NSW 1790 (+14), Victoria 2333 (+9), Queensland 438 (+39), South Australia 165 (+3), ACT 32 (+1), NT 13, Tasmania 23 and WA 10. (Two Queensland residents who died in NSW have been included in the official tolls of both states).
