Peter John Wells, 51, did not appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday, when his matter was briefly mentioned and bail was extended.

Wells faces a number of charges allegedly committed between 2002 and 2010, court documents show.

One of the alleged offences occurred at Sleeman Sports Centre in Brisbane’s southeast.

The complex is a “centre of excellence for the development of elite athletes in Queensland”, it’s website states.

Wells faces four charges including multiple counts of indecent treatment of a child under 16.

The matter is due back in court on June 27.
