Murder charge after Townsville woman stabbed
A 25-year-old man will face a north Queensland court charged with murder after the alleged stabbing death of a 44-year-old woman, believed to be his mother.

Emergency services were called to a Townsville home just before midday on Thursday following reports of critical stab wounds.
The woman died at the scene and the man was taken into custody.
A 48-year-old man was also allegedly assaulted by the younger man at the same address.

The ABC reports the alleged attacker is the woman’s son.
The 25-year-old man faces one count each of murder and serious assault, both of which are domestic violence offences.
He faces an additional charge of going armed to cause fear and will appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on Friday.
