A group of people, armed with a firearm, went to a property in Park Ridge about 7:40pm on Thursday and demanded property from the occupant, police said.

A 23-year-old suffered a wound to his neck when the firearm was discharged.

He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The group left the scene with a small number of items, police said.

Police are also investigating a separate incident in the neighbouring suburb of Logan Reserve.

A shot was fired during an altercation between a group of people about 9:30pm on Thursday, police said, but no one was injured.

Anyone with information about either incident has been urged to contact police.
