Girl dead, teen arrested after fatal stabbing
One teenage girl is dead and another has been arrested after a stabbing in Newcastle overnight.
A teenage girl has been arrested following a fatal stabbing in Newcastle, NSW, on Monday night.
Emergency services were called to Euston Close, Edgeworth, about 10.20pm.
Officers found a teenage girl with an injury to her torso.

She was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in a critical condition. She later died from her injuries and is yet to be formally identified.
Another teenage girl – who was known to the injured girl – was arrested at the scene. She was assisting police with inquiries on Tuesday.
A crime scene has been established.
An investigation is under way, assisted by the NSW Police crime commands homicide squad.
